Cooperative Play in Magic Legends is the cooperative multiplayer play that allows players to join with other friends and planeswalkers in order to complete Story Missions and Ordeals and gain rewards together.

Online Co-op in Magic: Legends

  • Cooperative play is limited to two other players per party, bringing the total to three.
  • Both Arc and Epic client players may play together on the PC
  • There are currently no plans for crossplay even when the official launch on the console is released
  • Some Quests allow players to work with 5 other planeswalkers to cooperate and defeat the large World Bosses together
  • Couch co-op is not available in Magic: Legends
  • The Difficulty can be changed to give players in multiplayer parties a challenge
  • Private instances are locations and quests that will not be available in multiplayer
  • Story Missions and Ordeals will be available for public matching and party cooperative play

Co-op Mechanics

Loot Items

Loot is shared amongst all party members. Players will not have to worry about dropped items and having to loot them first as each play will reap rewards when at a party. Whenever a player in a party collects loot, other party members will be acquiring the same item.

Spells

Spells that affect "allies" such as healing cards will affect team members of the party.

How to unlock Co-op in Magic Legends?

A few hours in the tutorial is required before Cooperative play is available in Magic Legends. Players must naturally progress until the second Region and they encounter the Rise of the Cabal Mission. Players will then be able to invite friends. However, the other party members will not be visible until players reach the Seven Sisters. Beat the mission, and players will then be able to see members of their party together.  Their name and health bar will also be seen on the left side of the screen.

How do I find other people?

In the map, the green markers indicate the location of other players and their usernames. This is also a good way to tell which locations will be available for cooperative play. These players can also be interacted with and you may send them a whisper, add them as a friend, or invite them to party.

Missions will also provide the option to queue publicly and the game will enter a matchmaking process to match players into a public party.

I can't see my Party members

If other members of the party are not visible, all players can load back to the Sanctum and you should be able to locate each other there.

Available Quests for Co-op

Story Missions will be available for multiplayer play and the difficulty levels can be adjusted to suit the power of the party. Completing the missions at higher difficulties will reap more valuable rewards for the whole party.

Players not in a party may enter public missions so the game can match them to other players if you prefer to play in a group. Successfully matching in a public mission will transport players to the mission location to begin progressing in the quest together. All players will reap the rewards of the completed missions.
